My Arts Award

As you know, I’m home educated. Can you believe it mummy still makes me do school while everyone else is enjoying the school holidays?

One of the things I have been doing is working towards my Arts Award Discover Level. I’ve really enjoyed doing the Arts Award and I’ve done all the activities except one which I need your help with.

I have to tell people about the award, what I have been doing and get some feedback. Mummy thought doing a blog post and presentation would be a good way of doing this and getting me to practice my writing (boo!)  In case you haven’t guessed I don’t like writing. I enjoy it slightly more with my new fountain pen.

Please can you watch the presentation (link above) and let me know what you think.

  1. This is fantastic! You have learned so much and have worked really hard to do your research What wonderful experiences you have had! I have enjoyed your presentation – well done!

  2. That was a lot of content and thanks for sharing about Enid Blyton. Amazing how many books she sold. I did a search after your article and found out she lived in Dulwich in London not too far from where I live.
On your presentation there was lots of pictures, information. I thought that maybe you might have liked to add a video? Give a short story about your artist Enid other wise great work.

    Regards Vincenzo

  3. What a great presentation. I really enjoyed reading it. I would have liked to see photos on each page or at the beginning to entice me to keep clicking. What about adding a video next time as I know you are great at these. Well done, great to see all your hard work. Beckie – Abbie’s Mum

    1. Thanks Beckie. I till think about putting in more pictures and a video. Lots of people have suggested that.

  4. Abbie “I loved the alien mask and was designed very nicely and the pictures were very good. Well done Issy a lovely presentation. I would change the background as there are white bits and I can’t read”

  5. This is very interesting Isabelle. Great Grandma and I enjoyed reading your presentation. The arts are something that will give you great pleasure throughout your life. This means so you will never be bored as there will always be something to look at, listen to or read even if you’re not actually doing the things yourself.
It would be very interesting to know whether you have yet decided which art form you most enjoyed looking at/reading/listening to, and which form would you like to do more of yourself?

    1. Thank you Auntie Jane and Great Grandma. I think my favourite art forms are music, drawing and painting.

  6. Content is great, l like the photo collages and the use of a table to display information.
One suggestion, perhaps the page about Enid Blyton could be a short video of you holding one of her books and talking about her. You can add a link to the PowerPoint slide. Just to add a different medium to the presentation.
    Great work!

  7. Hey Issy, I would never know you didn’t like writing so much as you’ve done an awesome. I really enjoyed reading about the learning you’ve done. I love Enid Blyton when I was younger – what a great choice!

  8. I really enjoyed your presentation Issy. You have some great photographs which really bring your experiences to life. Your storytelling took me on a journey with you and I was easily able to see which experiences and types of art you enjoyed the most. When I was a little girl my favourite books were the Mallory Towers series by Enid Blyton, I loved reading them. Have you read those yet?

    1. Thank you for your comments. I haven’t read the Mallory Towers books yet but I might look out for them at the library.
